Product Manager of Commercial Marketing

We are currently seeking a dynamic Product Manager of Commercial Marketing to join the team in San Diego.

GDx Innovator Profile:

The Product Manager of Commercial Marketing is responsible for management of development and execution of the commercial marketing strategy for the Decipher product line.  This role will include tactical and strategic tasks to highlight, refine and influence the growth of the Decipher product line.

What you are great at doing:

  • Management of overall Decipher product line and product life cycle including marketing project plans for each test as required.
  • Analyzing competitor products and identifying emerging trends and marketplace dynamics.
  • Designing, developing and implementing appropriate internal business requirements for new product launches and existing product support.
  • Communicating with sales team and internal medical affairs team, physicians, scientists and KOLs within customer base, on product(s) clinical utility, positioning and messaging of Decipher.
  • Compiling feedback from the sales organization for dissemination to management and guidance with current and in new product development.
  • Acting as primary point of contact for Sales Team.  Liaison between operations, medical staff, logistics, billing, client services, and sales in meeting product line performance objectives and client expectations. 
  • Understanding territory/regional/company sales performance for product line and organization.
  • Communicating with Sales Managers and Business Development Executives on sales and marketing maintenance and all aspects relative to customer base growth retention.
  • Developing product content for appropriate sales training materials, programs and metrics for on-site national annual meeting regional meetings, new hire training, and web and/or electronic product launch training as required.
  • Providing strategy and content for the design, development and implementation of appropriate paper and electronic marketing (sales collateral) and training tools for sales team.
  • Collaborating with other members of the marketing team on any co-related/overlapping projects/initiatives.
  • Assisting in managing product line to include tradeshows and promotion.
  • Communicating with vendor technology/medical partners, as well as outside marketing, media, advertising and printing companies.
  • Keeping up-to-date on all current product line methodologies/technologies to include new product launches as well as our internal level of expertise, innovative differentiators and service levels.

What you need to be successful: 

  • College degree (Masters preferred) in biology or life sciences preferred. 
  • 5-7 years’ experience in diagnostics marketing and sales to physician customers.  Both marketing and sales field experience strongly desired. 
  • Strong communication with persons outside the organization i.e., physicians, sales representatives, and other external sources, representing GenomeDx in person, via writing, by e-mail or telephone.
  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office to include, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
